PHAR­MACISTS WIT­HOUT BOR­DERS – HEL­PING WIT­HOUT LIMITS

Phar­macists Wit­hout Bor­ders Ger­ma­ny (Apo­the­ker ohne Gren­zen Deutsch­land e.V.) is a non-pro­fit orga­niza­ti­on based in Munich. Sin­ce our foun­ding in 2000, we have been com­mit­ted to impro­ving health world­wi­de. Our phar­maceu­ti­cal exper­ti­se plays a cru­cial role in our work. We stri­ve to enable ever­yo­ne to live a healt­hy life and advo­ca­te for the right to health­ca­re – whe­ther in acu­te emer­gen­ci­es or through long-term pro­jects that streng­then local health­ca­re structures.

More than 2,300 dedi­ca­ted vol­un­teers, along with num­e­rous regu­lar donors and sup­port­ers, make our work possible.

A Focus on Glo­bal Health

Our work is gui­ded by the huma­ni­ta­ri­an prin­ci­ples of huma­ni­ty, impar­tia­li­ty, inde­pen­dence, and neu­tra­li­ty. Huma­ni­ta­ri­an aid is pro­vi­ded sole­ly based on need – regard­less of eth­ni­ci­ty, reli­gi­on, gen­der iden­ti­ty, or poli­ti­cal affiliation.

Bey­ond emer­gen­cy reli­ef and long-term pro­jects, we address fun­da­men­tal issues in health­ca­re: sus­taina­bi­li­ty, pre­ven­ti­on, equa­li­ty, and access to medi­cal care are cen­tral aspects embedded in all our initia­ti­ves. We work to remo­ve struc­tu­ral bar­riers, pro­mo­te health edu­ca­ti­on, and crea­te sus­tainable solu­ti­ons – whe­ther through tar­ge­ted pre­ven­ti­on mea­su­res, streng­thening local health­ca­re sys­tems, or advo­ca­ting for equi­ta­ble access to health­ca­re worldwide.

Refu­gees often lack secu­re access to health­ca­re. Through easi­ly acces­si­ble ser­vices, we pro­vi­de sup­port and con­tri­bu­te to buil­ding long-term struc­tures for bet­ter medi­cal care.

Our Impact Worldwide

In respon­se to natu­ral dis­as­ters, cri­ses, and other huma­ni­ta­ri­an emer­gen­ci­es, we act quick­ly, fle­xi­bly, and accor­ding to spe­ci­fic needs world­wi­de. Our work helps secu­re basic medi­cal care with essen­ti­al medi­ci­nes and phar­maceu­ti­cal exper­ti­se – ensu­ring the sur­vi­val of tho­se affec­ted. At the same time, we col­la­bo­ra­te with local and inter­na­tio­nal part­ner orga­niza­ti­ons on long-term pro­jects to enable peo­p­le to live healt­hy lives.

Our Com­mit­ment in Germany

We also advo­ca­te for equi­ta­ble access to health­ca­re within Ger­ma­ny. Our goal is to ensu­re that ever­yo­ne can recei­ve the medi­cal care they need. Tog­e­ther with our regio­nal vol­un­teer groups, we regu­lar­ly orga­ni­ze infor­ma­tio­nal events, fund­rai­sing cam­paigns, and lec­tures across the coun­try to rai­se awa­re­ness of our work and inspi­re more peo­p­le to sup­port our cause.
